Censorship of IP Addresses in China
Many websites in China are blocked by IP address. When an IP address is blocked, all websites on that IP address become inaccessible. Many websites on shared web hosting are blocked because they share an IP address with another website which in turn was blocked. Here's an overview of selected IP addresses and whether they are blocked in China. Click on any entry for more information about when it was blocked or unblocked. If you want to look up an IP address not found here, click Test URL at the top of this page and enter the IP address as the URL.

your test report Amazon as not blocked, but I can only access Amazon from Shanghai through my VPN. How is that ?
David: Are you consistently unable to access http://www.amazon.com without a VPN? We've seen temporary glitches in access to Amazon from China before, but no permanent block. What kind of Internet connection are you on?
Too many stupid people in China push the government to block some site. To block freegate is very simple and easy, but the government doesn't block it. That is just a sample. So, you may need a free internet, you can use some tool, but for those stupid people, blocking can help them, without being confused or misleaded

My website, www.tsuru-bird.net is nothing but a website of photos of birds and animals that I have photographed. There is NOTHING on my site in any way that would be a reason for any 'reasonable' person / ISP / country / government, to block it!!!!! Unless looking at a picture of a bird is somehow so wrong and against China in some way!!!

Monte Taylor you may consider switching to another hosting, which means getting your server's IP and ISP changed. Tested traceroute from china and cannot get to international nodes.
